Dorothy L. (Cosilmon) Noti

Mrs. Dorothy L. (Cosilmon) Noti, age 81, of New Hartford, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, January 31, 2009 in the privacy of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Syracuse on May 20, 1927, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Harry and Pheobe (Johnson) Cosilmon. She was raised and educated in Oxford, NY. On October 23, 1954 she married Anthony F. Noti with whom she shared a loving and devoted union of 22 years prior to his passing on January 1, 1977. At one time, Dorothy held a position at Univac Corp. More recently, she was the owner and proprietor of the Old Pals Tavern located on Bleecker Street, a venture she operated up until the mid 1980’s. She also supported her son in the operation of The Marcy Tavern until her illness. As a loving matriarch, Dorothy’s family was the heart of her life. For leisure entertainment she enjoyed visiting the casino with her sister, Esther. Dorothy is survived by her children and their families, Salvatore Noti and Pam Murray, Carol and Anthony DelGuidice, Angela Castronovo, Leon and Angela Hare, Joanne Chmura, Anthony, Jr. and Sarah Noti, Sharon and Timothy Hanrahan, Donna and Charles Sergott, Richard Noti, Debra and Ed Moorhead, Rosemarie and Gary Galasso, Darlene and Philip Kelly, Jacqueline Dewey and Fred Diflo, Marie and Donald Rehm, and Gail and John Convertino, with whom she resided; her cherished 41 grandchildren; and her 41 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her sisters and brother-in-law, Viola and John Sanborn, and Esther Franklin; her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sandra Cosilmon; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-law, Marie Schafer and Carmella Noti-Perkins. She also leaves her friend, Betty Billings. She was predeceased by her sister, Mildred Cady; and her brother, Howard S. Cosilmon. The family is grateful to Dr. Lance Brownstein for his loving care and professionalism, to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., and to Senior Health Network for the comfort given to Dorothy. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:30-7:30 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dorothy’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Tuesday evening at 7:30 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Msgr. Francis Willenburg officiating. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. “See you in the funnies.”
