Donna M. (Ross-DeFazio) Watson

Mrs. Donna M. (Ross-DeFazio) Watson, age 57, of Blossvale, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on August 15, 1951, Donna was the daughter of the late Donald H. Ross and Rita Ann (Carucci) Wright. She was raised and educated locally. On August 23, 1997 she married C. Calvin Watson; theirs was a fairytale relationship filled with mutual devotion, love, and respect. Donna’s primary concern was her family, especially her children who brought much joy and happiness to her life. She was devoted to her husband and her home, which was her castle. Straightforward and open-minded with her opinions, Donna never sugar coated a conversation. She had an inherent sense of humor and a love of dancing. In fact, she would often dance around her house with anyone who visited. She also loved to cook and always had a place setting available for anyone who happened to stop by. Donna is survived by her husband, Cal; her children, Anthony DeFazio and fiancée Kalina Jeffer of Oneida; Joseph DeFazio, John and Samantha Watson, all of Blossvale, and Lisa and Greg Cornelius of Oneida; and her grandchildren, Zachary, Christopher, Jacob, and Calvin. Survivors also include her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Rocco A. DePerno of N. Utica; her brothers and sister-in-law, Robert Wright, Jr. and fiancée Debbie Drummond of VA, and Donald, Jr. and Christine Ross of New Hartford; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Jeanette Watson of Blossvale; her in-laws, Kathy and Ron Martin of Blossvale, and Cindy and Gordon Baker of TN; and her step-mother, Phyllis Ross. She also leaves her loving canine companion, Maggie. The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to Donna’s dear friends, Sharon Edick, Mariann DeFazio, Lori Wojtanowski, and Rosalie Homer for the loyalty and love they held for Donna. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00-1:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial donations in Donna’s honor to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc.; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Donna’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at the funeral home at 1:00 immediately upon the conclusion of visitation with Rev. William Mudge officiating, cousin to Donna and Cal.
