Donna Robinton

Mrs. Donna Marie Bernadette Robinton, age 58, of Utica, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in the comfort of her home. She was surrounded by her family and her friend at the time of her passing. Born in Pleasant Valley, NY on July 9, 1949, Donna was the daughter of the late Vincent and Dolores Germano. She was one of five children, including Vincent, Philip, Steven, Deborah. Donna loved and married Robert C. Robinton of Poughkeepsie, NY. They settled in Utica and together they raised a family of their own. Robert passed away in 1995. A blessing in her life was the relationship she shared with her friend, George. They were soul mates, best friends, and an inspiration to each other. Donna took pride in the comfort of her home, and during leisure time she was an avid reader, and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, going for walks with her grandchildren, and talking with friends and neighbors. She took solace in being outdoors, and she especially appreciated the backyard which was so comforting to her. One of her greatest accomplishments was to love and know her children and grandchildren. They were a source of happiness and pride to her. Donna is survived by her devoted friend, George; her sons, Robert Vincent Robinton, and Christopher Darren Robinton; her daughter, Dana Marie Robinton; and her step-son and his wife, Timothy and Tamara Robinton of Swansea, SC. Robert Vincent has five children, Marcellina, Xavier, Danellia, Katerina, and Savanna. For the past ten years Christopher Darren has been united with Shirley Sloan and they have two children, Autumn Rain-Lyn and Christopher Darren Robinton II. Her daughter Dana Marie resides in Meridian, ID with her fiancé Kevin Johnson. Dana has three daughters, Dallas, Tarin, and Katelyn “Little Katie”. Also surviving are a sister and three brothers; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; and her in-law, Buddy Robinton. The family extends thanks to the Staff of Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., especially Renee, and to Jackie and Chris of the 5th floor at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center, and to all who helped Donna to fulfill her end of life wishes. Donna had some ups and downs in her short time here with us, but she was at her best during her past few years because of her friendship with George. As her family, we would like to express gratitude and appreciation to her dearest friend George. He will always be in our hearts and thoughts. When we think of Donna smiling, we know it was because of George. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Donna’s Celebration of Life and Memorial Service which will commence on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Dallas Jones, Leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will officiate the ceremony. “Donna, you are loved deeply by many, and will never be forgotten” A Favorite Quote: "If you can only remember me with pain and sorrow instead of love and happiness, then I ask of you not remember me at all."
