Donna (Massoud) Adamany

Mrs. Donna (Massoud) Adamany, of Utica, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center with the love and support of her family. Born in Utica, Donna was the daughter of the late Michael and Mora (Gozy) Massoud. She was raised and educated locally. On October 16, 1948 she was joined in marriage with Abraham A. “Abe” Adamany with whom she shared 62 years in a loving union. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She cared for her family and home, and enjoyed her favorite culinary pastimes of cooking and baking. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Donna is survived by her husband, Abraham; and her daughters and son-in-law, Sister Renee Adamany, CSJ of Albany, and Denise, Evan and grandson Aaron Holland of Rhode Island. Survivors also include her sister, Eva Ruocco of CT; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Samuel Adamany, Richfield Springs, Rose M. Dote, Utica, and Joan Massoud, Utica; her friends Lucy Alberico, Pat and Alberta Santacroce who were longtime friends of over 50 years, Karen Eichele, Tony Rodriguez, Anthony and Eleanor Salerno, Ralph and Jackie Colucci, Mary Pucine, and the Hartigan Family. Her “Grandchildren” Victoria, Nichiah and Brandon. She was predeceased by her 3 brothers and sister-in-law, Abe Massoud, Isaac “Knobby” and Amelia Massoud, and John F. Massoud; and her 6 sisters and brothers-in-law, Amy E. and Joseph A. Albert, Jean D. Massoud, Theresa Massoud, Emily Johnson, Ethel and Tony Tomaselli, and Emma and Edward Joseph; her in-laws Martha M. and Maurice LaBrie, and Matie Adamany. Visitation will be held Monday from 2-6 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial donations in Donna’s honor to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Donna’s funeral service will commence on Tuesday afternoon at 12:00 from the funeral home and at 1:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Salerno, longtime family friend. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
