Mr. Donald S. D'Amico

Donald S. D’Amico, age 62, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 in the comfort of his home after a 4-year battle with Central Nervous System Lymphoma. Born in Utica on May 3, 1951, Donald was the son of the late Salvatore M., Jr. and Angela M. (Paciello) D’Amico. Raised and educated locally, he was a graduate of Whitesboro Central School and Utica College. On August 21, 1999 he married the former Patty Nasso. Donald was dedicated in his career as Vice-President of Finance at Partlow-West, Inc. & Anderson Instrument Co., the position from which he retired in 2006. He was an avid golfer and a former member of the Cedar Lake Club. He was also proud to have run in several Boilermaker Road Races, and looked forward to his annual winter trip to Florida. Donald is survived by his wife, Patty; his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Malea D’Amico, and Ryan and Tara D’Amico; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, Julia; Christopher, and Lukas. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters-in-law, twin brother Daniel R. and Leslie D’Amico, and David M. and Margo D’Amico; his aunts and uncles, Daniel and Theresa Paciello, Marie Pandolfo, and Dorothy and Robert Roberts; his sister-in-law, Sandy Madonia; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Thomas Coyle and his team in Oneida, and at University Hospital. Special thanks to his “buddies” who supported him throughout his life and especially throughout his illness; John Ciaccia, Paul Baccaro, Ken Circelli, Joe Valeriano, Don Guido, Ralph Lupia, Richie Moore, Dena Campola, and Harry D’Amico. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. In lieu of floral offerings, donations may be considered to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Donald’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta.
