Mr. David E. Kyles, Jr.

David E. “Loco” Kyles, Jr., age 30, went home to be with Angels as he passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born in Utica on April 14, 1986, David was the son of Irene Nichols and the late David E. Kyles, Sr. He was raised in Utica and attended T.R. Proctor High School. David was devoted to Carmen “Moya” Diaz during their 13-year relationship that began when they were high school sweethearts. They were blessed with 4 children and they grew to be soul mates. They laughed at times, disagreed at times, but most of all, they loved each other all the time. David was a humble, calm person who internalized his problems and thoughts to arrive at the best solution. His family was foremost in his mind and they meant the world to him. His illness never prevented him from participating in life. Family time was family time —- a time for food, fun, laughs, music, and a smoke. Loco was also a jokester with a sharp sense of humor, and he talked the talk. David loved life and had a passion for music. He took time when he could to fish at the Lock’s and was known as the “Bass Master”. His Playstation 4 was a pleasure and a diversion for him. Above all, David was a great dad. He loved his girls and they loved him. They painted his toenails and also painted on him —- and he was thrilled by it. Sometimes they even did his hair! His children were precious pearls that shined softly in his eyes. They were priceless and they made him wealthy in a way that no amount of money ever could. Loco is survived by his love, Moya; his daughters, Iyanna, Keyzanna, Davianna, and Adrianna; his mother, Irene Nichols; his sisters, Amanda Nichols, Shayla Blackshear, Najaeh Peak, and Jonaeh Peak; his brothers, Deon Williams Jr., and Donnell Williams; his brother, Darkeise Kyles; and his maternal grandmother, Carol McMullen, who he truly loved. He will also remain in the hearts of his aunts, Lee E. Kyles, who always found David to be a genuine reminder of her late brother, and Shirley Kyles; his uncles, Michael McMullen, and David Nichols; a host of nieces and nephews, Anajeaha, Dwayne, Cathalaya, Romeo, and Romayne; cousins; and his in-laws, Yariza, Angelica, Madeline, Miguel Guyo Diaz (who was a bro), Emillio, and Miguel, Sr. and Rita Diaz; and the blessing of many great friends, including his childhood friend, Mark Reed. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Mamie Kyles. The family extends many thanks to the staff of the Dialysis Unit at the Masonic Care Community of NY and the personnel of St. Elizabeth Medical Center/4th Floor Special Care Unit for their endless concern and compassion in caring for David. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00-12:30 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. David's funeral service and Christian Celebration of Life will commence on Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 at the funeral home with Sister Betty Giarrusso, CSJ, officiating. Interment will follow graveside at Forest Hill Cemetery.
