Darlene R. (Coriale) Morgan

Mrs. Darlene R. (Coriale) Morgan, age 45, of NorthUtica, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 18, 2006, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Utica on November 19, 1960, Darlene was the daughter of Mary D. (Arciero) Coriale and the late Benjamin F. Coriale, Jr. Raised and educated in Utica, she was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On July 21, 1984 she married Ronald P. Morgan. Ron and Darlene were a loving and affectionate couple throughout their 22-year union. They were inseparable. In marrying Darlene, Ronald became a member of the family -- a son, a brother, and an uncle. At one time, Darlene was employed at Broadacres Skilled Nursing Facility. Although she was faced with many challenges, Darlene loved life so much that she rose above her adversities and enjoyed her time on this earth. With goodness of heart and purity of soul, she found guidance in her Lord and happiness in her family. Her bright smile and enduring kindness were always heartfelt and natural. She took pleasure in knitting, crocheting, solving puzzles, and watching her daily soap operas. Darlene prized her visits to the casino and the state fair, but above all, she treasured time with her family. She collected angels, and displayed her favorites in her bedroom. A faithful parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, she attended weekly Mass and received communion. Darlene walked in God’s graces, and now rests with His angels. Darlene is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald; her loving mother, Mary D. Coriale; her sister and brother-in-law, Carm and Joseph Artessa, Jr. of Deerfield; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Benjamin F. III and Ann Coriale of Utica, and Anthony L. Sr. and Barbara Coriale of Deerfield. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Dr. Michael M. and Mariangela Coriale of Chambersburg, PA, Danielle Coriale and Ross Barrett of Boston, MA, Anthony L., Jr. and Diana Coriale of Deerfield, Dr. David B. and Jennifer Coriale of Marcy, Joseph Artessa, Jr. of Utica, Mark and Megan Artessa of Marcy, and Gina M. Artessa of Deerfield. In addition, she leaves her great-nieces and great-nephews, Victor, Nicholas, and Michael M. Coriale, Jr.; Michael A. Coriale; and Isabella and Dominick Coriale; numerous aunts and uncles, especially acknowledging Philip and Phyllis Arciero; and her cousins. She was blessed with many wonderful friends who will miss her and will always remember her with a smile, walking hand in hand with Ronald. Darlene also leaves her canine companion, Jade. The entire family offers its heartfelt appreciation to the EMT staff, the good samaritans who valiantly helped at the scene, Officer Artie Ellis of the NY State Police, for his sensitivity, and the St. Elizabeth Medical Center Emergency Dept. and the Intensive Care Unit for their compassion and concern. Also, the family extends gratitude to Father Joe Salerno for his spiritual guidance and friendship. Visitation will be held today (Friday) from 4-7 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Mrs. Morgan’s funeral will commence on Saturday morning at 8:00 from the funeral home and at 9:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish at Mt. Carmel Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
