Mr. Daniel R. "Dynamite" Alberico

SYLVAN BEACH – Mr. Daniel R. “Dynamite” Alberico, age 83, formerly of Utica, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Born in Utica on March 6, 1941, Daniel was the son of the late Joseph A. and Mary (Rinaldi) Alberico. He was raised in the area and attended local schools. An entrepreneur who had a penchant for being a good dealmaker, Daniel was a self-employed mechanic, and was owner and operator of Dyno Mart. He also had musical talents, headlining his own band, Danny and the Country Riders. He was an entertainer with a big heart. Daniel enjoyed games such as Sudoku (always with a cup of coffee), backgammon, word searches, and puzzles. A gifted conversationalist, he was able to create fellowship with just about anyone. For the last 20 years, Daniel could often be found hanging out at West End Auto or Joanne’s porch. For Daniel, his family was of utmost importance in his life. He was the glue that held them together and was truly a man who was one of a kind. He loved traditions, however, was not a traditional person. “A father’s work is never done.” Daniel enjoyed travelling to Florida to visit his friends, Jim Horgan and Carmine. One of his favorite sayings was, “You’re going to miss me when I’m gone.” Daniel was of the Catholic faith. Daniel is survived by his children and their loves, Michelle Alberico, Dana Lonis and her wife Kelly Lonis, Daniel “Danny” II and Michele Alberico, Dennis Alberico and Laurie (almost Alberico), David and Christie Alberico, and Mary “Cakes” Marks. He held close to his heart the memory of his son, Michael Robert Marks, who preceded him on July 2, 2017. He also leaves to cherish his memory his adored grandchildren, Shawn Alberico, Joey Alberico; Maddox Lonis, Michael Lonis, Miriam Lonis; Daniel Alberico III, Delaney Alberico and Dakota; Alyssa and Rob Van de Wal, Korryn Alberico; Nicole Andrewski, and Frankie Alberico and Brittany; great-grandchildren, Christian Paul; Hudson Alberico, Gianna Alberico; Eloise Van de Wal, and Nathan Van de Wal; and his siblings and their spouses, Joan Bigelow, Marie Behr (the late Jim Behr), Emily and Paul Lee, Joseph Alberico and his companion Barbara DeAngelo, and Anthony Alberico. He was additionally predeceased by his infant sister, Palma Alberico; and brother, Nicholas G. Alberico. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; aunt, Ermelinda Lewis; cousins; and many cherished friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kandia for many years of loving care.
