Mrs. Clara E. (Marino) Mastrangelo

UTICA – Mrs. Clara E. (Marino) Mastrangelo, age 89, a native of Utica, departed this life on Thursday, January 11, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Clara was born in Utica on February 11, 1934 to the late Albert and Catherine (Cittadino) Marino. She was the spouse of the late Fradino “Dino” Mastrangelo. Clara is survived by her daughter, Dina, and son-in-law, Andy Weimer; a son, Andrew, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Mastrangelo; her grandchildren, Maria R. Weimer; and Andrew J. Mastrangelo; sister, Mary LaRocco, who is the last of her siblings which included five sisters and one brother; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; sister-in-law, Loretta Moccaldi; and dear friends too numerous to mention. Clara was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Tony and Lucy Marino, Catherine and James Monterose, Jennie and Nick Risucci, Rose and Bob Moccaldi, Anna and Tony Moccaldi; brother-in-law, John LaRocco; and niece, Camille (Monterose) Caulkins. Clara was educated in local schools, a 1952 graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. She worked at Dahl Motors, Griffiss Air Force Base, the Oneida County Department of Public Works (Oriskany location), and the YWCA. Her latter years were spent volunteering at local area nursing homes. Clara was a member of the Daughters of Columbus, the St. Anne’s Society, the Italian-American Heritage Association, and the Parkway Senior Center. In keeping with Clara’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Mary, Mother of Our Savior Parish, Lourdes Campus, 2222 Genesee St. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Dilip Kachare for the care and compassion shown to Clara over the past thirty years; members of the Utica Fire Department and Rescue; and the nursing staff of 7 East at Wynn Hospital. Clara’s children also wish to thank their many dear family members for their love, prayers, and support. A quote from Clara: “My earthly life was good and filled with love from family and friends.
