Mr. Charles S. "Chuck" "Chuckie" Janicke

YORKVILLE – Mr. Charles S. “Chuck” “Chuckie” Janicke, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 5, 2024. Born in Utica on November 19, 1969, Charles was the son of Charles Janicke and Sonja (Duff) Jaquays. He was raised and educated in Utica where he attended Utica Free Academy. On August 7, 1999, Chuckie married the love of his life, the former Kathy A. Delia. The couple shared a loving union blessed with many beautiful memories. Two days after Chuckie’s passing, they would have celebrated their 25th anniversary together. At one time, he was a roofer by trade for many years with Jewett Roofing. More recently he was employed at Walmart at their New Hartford location as an associate for over 12 years. He loved his position at Walmart where he met and made many wonderful friends. He was a self-made man who took his role as patriarch of the family seriously. He was very dependable, loyal, and possessed a warm and loving heart. Chuckie was passionate about gaming, especially on his PS5, enjoying playing games like FIFA and Madden with his family members. He was also a fan of a good “Jack and Coke,” playing cornhole, attending heavy metal and country concerts with his loved ones, and riding his motorcycles, relishing the freedom of being on the open road. Chuckie leaves behind his wife, Kathy; and his children and their loves, Dana M. “Spanky” Kimball and Curt Swedin, Kayla “Sunshine” Janicke and Alex Ten, Jade “Lil Mamma” Janicke and Griffin Leahey, Joe Kimball and fiancée Rebecca Rothdiener, Shawn Kimball and Melanie Bates, and Steven Janicke and Savannah Seaton. He was a proud grandfather to Britney, Arabella, with whom he had a special relationship, and Sutton who was just recently born. He is also survived by his father, Charles Janicke; mother, Sonja Jaquays; siblings and their loves, Gina Janicke (his “favorite sister”) and Karen Froelich, Todd and Dawn Janicke, and Troy Janicke; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and in-laws, JoAnne and John Fessia, and Joseph and Marsha Delia; and many friends, including his “work sister,” Antoinette Belmonte; and co-workers, Tyrell, and Danny AKA “Dummy.” He was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis L. “Frank” and Kathryn A. (Leone) Delia Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. A Final Blessing will commence at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
