Mrs. Cecilia J. "Celia" (Mazurowski) Peppenelli

Mrs. Cecilia J. “Celia” (Mazurowski) Peppenelli, age 94, of New Hartford, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2010 in the privacy and comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on May 18, 1916, Cecilia was the daughter of the late John and Julia (Wyzykouska) Mazurowski. She was raised and educated locally and attended Holy Trinity Schools. On December 23, 1941 she married John Peppenelli, Jr. who passed away on October 15, 1982; during their 40-year union, they complemented each other in every way and shared a concern for family. Cecilia took pride in her commendable job of creating a loving, pleasant home. She was a doting mother and grandmother, and her face lit up when her grandchildren entered the room. She met the challenges of being a constant caregiver with ease and grace. A master of all culinary arts, she enjoyed cooking and loved the joy of bringing her family together around the dinner table. She was equally expressive in the outdoors where she always kept a lavish flower garden and a cultivated vegetable garden. Celia’s Catholic faith was important to her; she prayed to the Blessed Virgin and was loyal to Mother Angelica’s television program. She was formerly a parishioner of St. Agnes Church and currently a communicant of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. Cecilia is survived by her daughters, Celia Peppenelli of New Hartford, and Madeline Balcomb of Whitesboro; her son, John G. Peppenelli of New Hartford; her grandchildren, Dominick and Corrine Perritano, Anthony J. Perritano, and Melissa and Brad McAuslan; and her great-grandchildren, Angelina, and Anthony. Survivors also include her brother, Louis Mazurowski; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Helen Mazurowski, Albert Savicki, Rose Puleo, Gloria Pandolfo, and Eunice Peppenelli. She was predeceased by numerous brothers, sisters, and in-laws. The family extends gratitude to Dr. Paula Vecchio, Dr. Brian Gaffney, Dr. Cenk Pekis, Dr. Andrew Wickline, and their staffs, for the compassion and concern shown to Cecilia over the years. Visitation will be held Wednesday (today) from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Cecilia’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Thursday morning at 10:00 from the funeral home and at 11:00 at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery. “Ja cie kocham.”
