Candido "Dido" Noti (Colon)

Mr. Candido Luis “Dido” Noti (Colon), age 24, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. During his hospitalization, his family and many friends kept a loving vigil by his side. Candido was born in Utica on September 28, 1981. His parents are Michele Noti and David Colon Sr. He was raised here and educated in the Utica City School System. He was currently employed at Belvedere’s where he was valued and appreciated for his love of cooking. Working together as “family”, he shared a special bond with the Bevivino family. Dido was his own person, individualistic and independent, gifted with a positive and upbeat attitude, he truly lived life to the fullest. The truest and deepest sentiment of his heart was his love for his son. In addition, he placed a supreme value on the worth and importance of his many meaningful friendships. Candido is survived by his parents, Michele Noti and David Colon Sr.; and his cherished son, Candido Noti as well as the mother of his child, Amber Flemming. He is also survived by his brothers, David Colon, Jr., and Alex Colon; his maternal grandfather, John F. Noti; his maternal grandmother, Nellie Capraro; his paternal grandmother, Felicita Colon; and his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Santiago; numerous uncles and aunts; several great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins; his fiancée, Brookelynn Gates; and a godson, Nicholas Arrigo. He was also blessed with many wonderful friends who he loved as “brothers” and “sisters”. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Jose “Pepin” Colon. Dido’s family offers its heartfelt gratitude to the EMT’s and all those who responded to the emergency and attended him at the accident scene. Thanks also to Dr. Soults and Dr. Rusyniak, as well as to the physicians, nurses, and staff who attended him at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center, especially the personnel of the ICU, for their heroic efforts, dedicated care, and compassionate support. Genuine appreciation is extended to Sue Cooper, an exceptional woman whose presence was a guiding light for everyone, especially Michele. The family is deeply grateful to Dido’s many friends and, in fact, to the entire community whose support was both a comfort and an inspiration. Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 4-8 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Candido’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 9:30 at Historic Old St. John’s Church.
