Bruce A. Pietsch

Mr. Bruce A. Pietsch, age 54, of North Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Utica on March 3, 1954, Bruce is the son of Gerald and Dawn (Foster) Pietsch. Raised and educated locally, he was a 1971 graduate of Whitesboro High School. On October 25, 1975 he married the former Karen Tartaglia with whom he shared 32 years; they loved and respected each other and to this union, came the blessing of two wonderful daughters. Bruce was employed as a tractor trailer driver for 26 years, most recently with Timbar Packaging & Display Co., at the Marcy division. Bruce truly loved life, honored his family, was a wonderful provider and will be remembered as a good man. He was devoted and passionate about his Harley-Davidson and found comfort in the surroundings of his camp at Hinckley Lake. Bruce is survived by his wife, Karen; his daughters, Sarah Pietsch and Brandon Wilson of Buffalo and Susie Pietsch of New York City; and his parents, Gerald and Dawn Pietsch of North Utica. Survivors also include his sisters, Linda Cheesman of LA, and Cathy House of UT; his brother and sister-in-law, Gerry and Heide Pietsch of Utica; his nieces and nephews, Stephan and Cindy Pietsch; Kristin, Laura, and Peter Tartaglia; Dave, Tiffany, Steve, and Nicholas Ferrone; his cousins; numerous aunts and uncles; and his in-laws, Lucille and Ray Ferrone, Peter Tartaglia, Dave Ferrone, Steve and Bonnie Ferrone, Ray and Claudette Ferrone, Tony Ferrone, Richie and Patty Ferrone, Carol Jonquil, and Frank Ferrone. He also leaves his cats, Van Gogh and Mooch. The family is grateful to Dr. Paula Vecchio and staff for their support during the years. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00-2:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings.
