Braylen Michael "Peanut" Klein

Braylen Michael "Peanut" Klein, age 3 1/2, became an Angel on Monday, March 11, 2013 when he became a child of the Lord in the comforting care of the Seigenthaler Center. Braylen was born at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center in New Hartford on August 19, 2009, the son of Corey Klein and Shannon Williams. He was born as a preemie and transferred to the care of the Crouse Medical Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit where he was embraced by the caretakers for his first 5 months of life. Braylen grew to become an adventurous, playful little boy who liked to go outside and play with his friends. He was amused by computers and cell phones, but fascinated with keys. He developed a personality like no other, and he expressed joy and happiness each day. He was able to give directions and imitate sounds and songs. He attended pre-school at Clough Elementary and he liked waiting for the bus like a big boy and having a day of fun at school. An easy way to entertain Braylen was to take him “bye-bye” in the car. He was always on the go! It was amazing how much he learned from his favorite cartoon Caillou. He focused on your eyes during a conversation, and he loved attention and babbling on the phone. He was so proud that he was learning to walk and talk and was able to formulate many four word sentences. Although he faced adversity at birth, it didn’t stop him. He was strong-willed and acted as if he didn’t have a care in the world. French fries and chicken McNuggets were his favorite foods. He taught his family a lesson of life – he never allowed health issues to overcome his goals – and he did it with a smile that lit up a room. Braylen is survived by his mom, Shannon Williams and David Hughes; his dad, Corey Klein and Allison Nicholas; maternal grandparents, Robin “Dude” Williams and Irene “Grandma” Loisell; paternal grandparents, Lisa “Nana” Klein and Christopher Devoy; and James and Tricia Burgdoff; great-grandparents, Edward and Roseanne Klein; and Edwin and Marilyn Devoy. He also leaves his aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, many cousins, especially remembering Jermaine, Candice, Caleb, Logan, and Anthony; and a huge number of buddies and family friends. The family wishes to thank Neurosurgeon Dr. Zulma S. Tovar Spinoza and her staff, and numerous other physicians and caregivers of Crouse Hospital, the Golisano Children’s Hospital at Upstate Medical University, and the staff of the Siegenthaler Center, all of whom were extremely compassionate, professional and sympathetic to their “Little Peanut.” A special thank you is offered to the community and friends for their support at the upcoming Celebration in honor of Braylen’s Angelic Life in April. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00-1:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Braylen’s funeral service will commence on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 from the funeral home and at 2:00 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where his Mass of the Angels will be offered by Fr. Mark Kaminski and Msgr. Francis Willenburg. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
