Mrs. Arlene M. (Audas) Seymour

Mrs. Arlene M. (Audas) Seymour, age 76, of Whitesboro, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center. Born in Clark Mills, NY on February 11, 1934, Arlene is the daughter of Gladys (Hubbard) Audas and the late Harold J. Audas. She was raised and educated in Clinton, NY and furthered her studies at M.V.C.C. receiving an Associates Degree. On August 23, 1953 she married Daniel B. Seymour, Sr. with whom she shared 45 years in a loving union. Arlene worked as a teacher with the Head Start Program. She later worked at Fleet Bank and other local businesses, utilizing her skills and competency in office work. Arlene was charitable of heart and often volunteered her efforts to local charities. At her residence, Buck Apartments, she initiated and headed a bottle and can drive to benefit the Whitesboro Fire Department. She received an award for her efforts. She served as secretary of the Buck Apartments Tenants’ Association and attended the Buckaroo social events. She was a talented artist . She enjoyed painting at Elderlife classes. Her art work was exhibited in art shows at MWPI and Elderlife. She was a member of the Sweet Adeline Chorus and Quartet, performing at various area events in earlier years. Arlene made the most of life and gave back to her community with a spirit of gratitude for the blessings in her life. Arlene is survived by her mother, Gladys H. Audas of New Hartford; her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Seymour of Utica, Sally and Michael Moskin, Jr. of Westernville, and Sandra and Thomas Boehlert of Utica; her sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel B. Seymour, Jr. of Yorkville, and Brad and Lisa Seymour of North Greenbush, NY; and her grandchildren, Phillip Moskin, Tommy Boehlert, Jr., Daniel B. Seymour III, Renee and Jeremy Matt, and Christopher Boehlert. Survivors also include her sister, Jacquelynn Foley of Schuyler; her nieces and nephews, especially acknowledging Scot Foley, Greg Foley and Candace and his children, Carly and Lauren; Kirk and Donna Foley and their children, Nate and Ian; and Alan Foley and David Cervantes; many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, including Katherine and Ed Holston of NJ. She was predeceased by her uncle, Amos Hubbard. The family extends sincere appreciation to the Whitesboro Fire Department, the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center, and the many doctors and nurses who offered their care and professionalism to Arlene. Visitation will be held Monday from 1:00-3:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Arlene’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Monday afternoon at 3:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation. Pastor Marilyn Tyo will officiate.
