Anthony S. Aceto

Mr. Anthony S. Aceto, age 63, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 14, 2007 in the comfort of his home. Born in Utica on July 9, 1944, Anthony is the son of Susie M. (LaValla) Aceto and the late Peter Aceto. Raised and educated locally, he attended T. R. Proctor High School. On August 12, 1972 he married the former Diane Spagnuolo with whom he celebrated 36 years in a loving and devoted union. Anthony was currently working as a resource investigator with the Oneida County Department of Social Services. During his leisure time, he took pleasure in frequenting his favorite social spots including Whitey’s Luncheonette, Toma’s Deli, and on Sundays, Betty’s Diner, where he enjoyed tasty meals and many good friendships. He valued time with his family and enjoyed celebrating special occasions with them. A good-hearted, sociable man, Anthony appreciated his friends and loved ones, and he especially loved children. Anthony is survived by his wife Diane; his step-son and daughter-in-law, Rocco J. and Cheri Palmer of Hawaii; his mother, Susie M. (LaValla) Aceto of the St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, New Hartford; and his step-grandchildren, Rocco, Heather, Kaili, and Stephani. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers-in-law, Louisa Yozzo and Gino Tribuzio of Utica, Nancy Mancuso of FL; Rita and Robert Toncar of OH; Yolanda DeCrescenzo of FL; Antoinette Fiore and Don Barubi of New Hampshire; his brothers and sister-in-law, Michael and Donna Aceto of Herkimer, and Peter Aceto of Deerfield; his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Johann and Frank Page of Marcy; and his many special friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, John Aceto, and Joseph L. Aceto; his sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Charles Tritten; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Yozzo, and Frank DeCrescenzo. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00-8:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Anthony’s funeral service will commence on Tuesday morning at 9:00 from the funeral home and at 10:00 at St. Agnes Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum.
