Anne M. (Singe) Pecheone

Mrs. Anne M. (Singe) Pecheone, age 88, peacefully went home to join those who have gone before her, on Friday, November 14, 2014; she was in the company and the hearts of those who loved her most. Born in Utica on February 20, 1926, Anne was the daughter of the late Louis and Adeline M. (Cappelli) Singe. On June 21, 1947 she married Ret. Lt. Raymond A. Pecheone, UPD with whom she shared a lifetime of love and compassion during their 63 years together. Anne and Ray were blessed with a great love for each other and for their family, and she held him in her heart to the moment of her passing. Anne was an accomplished seamstress and for many years she worked alongside her brother in his family business, Singe Cleaners. But the essence of her being was manifested in her role of mother and grandmother. As a matriarch, she was very nurturing and always able to help her loved ones in any circumstance. She was a woman of strength and character and met the years with style and grace. She enriched people’s lives, touched their hearts, and treasured the many memories made during her lifetime. She honored her traditions, beliefs, and holiday celebrations, and her table was a celebration of her love. She took pride in her home and had a passion for creating and tending to her floral garden. Anne is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Raymond L. and Rosemary Pecheone of West Hartford, CT; her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon A. and Louis Roefaro of Utica, and Lynnanne and Thomas Jung of Albany; and her grandchildren, Andrew and Hilary Pecheone; Sommer Roefaro Bucossi and her husband William, and Richie Roefaro; Alyssa Jung, and Gregory Jung. She was anxiously awaiting the arrival and birth of her first great-grandchild. Anne will also be remembered by her sisters, Rae Flamino, and Elaine Kalesnik; her brother and sister-in-law, Anthony L. and Ninett Singe; and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and sister-in-law, Marianne Pecheone. She was predeceased by her brothers, Vincent Singe, Sr., and Thomas Singe; her husband’s parents, Carmine and Jennie (Grande) Pecheone; and her in-laws, Arthur Flamino, Carmen Pecheone, Marie and John Eck, and Kathleen and Rollin Tuttle. The family extends many thanks to Anne’s longtime physician, Dr. Jerry Sloan for his personal concern for Anne’s wellbeing; the staff of Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. and the caregivers of the Abraham House for making her short journey incredibly peaceful; and her nephew, Carmen Pecheone, with whom she shared a special connection. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11:00-12:00 noon at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Those wishing to express an act of kindness in lieu of flowers may make a donation to the Abraham House in Anne’s memory; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Anne’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta. Committal prayers and Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausolueum.
