Anna M. (Bohme) Mczorn

NEW HARTFORD - Anna M. (Bohme) Mczorn, age 79, was freed and is now with the Lord, on Monday, October 2, 2023. Born in Kankakee, Illinois, on December 9, 1943, Anna was the cherished daughter of the late Gauden and Rosemarie Bohme. Anna was raised and educated in Illinois then relocated to New Jersey and laid the foundation for a life that was a testament to her resilience, strength, and unwavering love. Dedicated to service, Anna began her professional journey at Horton Memorial Hospital in Middletown, NY as a supervisor of the dietary department. Her nurturing nature then led her to St. Cabrini Home, she was fiercely protective, ensuring the well-being of all under her care as she transported them to their destinations. Her next position was at the House of the Good Shepherd. “C” cottage was her responsibility. Once again, she loved to care for those that needed her. She was admired for her energy and passion, but it was for her to retire. Thus, Anna's spirit of service continued. She became the neighborhood woman, selflessly offering transportation to those in need, always accompanied by her favorite book to read while waiting for her friends. Motherhood was Anna's crowning achievement. Known affectionately as “The Warden,” guiding her five children with a mix of tenderness and discipline, she instilled in them the greatest values, beliefs, and genuine love. To her grandchildren, she was “Grandma” or “Mema.” When in her care, she kept a watchful eye and family was so important to her, she fell in love again when the great and great-great grandchildren came. One of her favorite hobbies was knitting and she worked to create the most unique colorful slippers which were a favorite gift; and truly they were the only gift that they wanted from her. Anna had an ability to surround herself with good people in life. She was admired by her children who were amazed by her integrity and shared in such good relationships with her. Positivity and the manner in which she spoke it left them to know that they could coin her phrase “you can do that!” They had no boundaries when it came to opportunities and accomplishments in their lives. Her generosity of spirit and strong magnetic vibes allowed her a life that was a full one; but it did not come without its troubles or uphill battles that she fought tenaciously. Her children realize that it took a village to survive their upbringing and it was filled collectively with love, advice, discipline, and that of sincere respect, it was a way of life that kept everyone on the up and up. At a time in her life when she was raising children, she worked two full time jobs and drove tractor trailer on the weekends. This was inspired in order to make ends meet. They often reflected that maybe that tractor trailer job gave her time for peace and tranquility. A woman ahead of her time and on so many levels, she never wavered, and she remained steadfast and true to her beliefs. Anna was a person who had a personal relationship with her Lord. She prayed and was inspired daily by watching and listening to Joyce Meyer. When reflecting upon her greatest accomplishments, there’s no question that her five children gave her her most favorable joys and she knew she was valued, loved, and they will reflect upon her life to find true inspiration. Anna is survived by her loving children and was the proud mother of, Roland H. Blair III, Rosalind M. Blair, Berry A. Blair, Deborha Blair, and Ayanna J. Davis. The legend of a fine woman will live on in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Bohme) Russo (her late husband Lou) She was predeceased by her sisters, Cynthia Bohme who passed in children, and Carol Bohme. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was blessed with the love of many dear and loyal friends; please know you all were in her heart. In the final journey of Anna’s life she was cared for by wonderful physicians, nurses, and staff. All the attention of her family and friends was incredible and so comforting. She was comfortable and truly blessed as this season of her life came to a closure. A Memorial Gathering in Anna's honor will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South Street, corner of Hammond Ave. Anna’s Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will commence at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
