Ann (Puleo) Costello

Mrs. Ann (Puleo) Costello, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, October 01, 2013 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on October 8, 1920, Ann was the daughter of the late Michael and Theresa (Ducato) Puleo. She was raised and educated in Utica and attended local schools. On October 29, 1971 she married John “Jack” Costello with whom she shared 11 years prior to his passing on October 1, 1982. For many years, Ann was employed by Lincoln Laundry. She also worked at the General Electric Company/Radio Receiver Department prior to retiring. A loving and faithful mother and grandmother, Ann always offered warmth and unwavering support to her son and family. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Always close to her heart was her beloved and adored son, James A. Mancuso, Jr. who preceded her in death on October 8, 2001. Survivors include her precious and cherished grandchildren, Michael J. Mancuso, and David J. Mancuso; her daughter-in-law, Marie Mancuso; her brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph Puleo of Utica, and Michael and Zelba Puleo of CA; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; and her sisters-in-law, Sally Puleo of Utica, Anne Puleo of Utica, and Joanne Puleo of CA. She was predeceased by her sisters and brother-in-law, Providence and Frank Fumarola, and Connie Puleo; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Philip and Josephine Puleo, Onofrio “Fred” and Anna Puleo, John Puleo, Frank Puleo, Salvatore and MaryAlyce Puleo, and Corinne Puleo; and her niece, Theresa Ann Puleo. The family extends appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the St. Elizabeth Medical Center; as well as Jennifer, her hairdresser for picking her up for her appointments; Ryan and Rene Mahanna and the entire Mahanna family, and the staff of the Oneida County Office for the Aging for all the care and attention shown to Ann during the final months of her life’s journey. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-7 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Ann’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Wednesday morning at 10:00 from the funeral home and at 11:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
