Mr. Angelo F. "Sonny" Pacciarelli

Mr. Angelo F. “Sonny” Pacciarelli, age 73, of Utica, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the St. Luke’s Home with the love and support of his family by his side. Born in Bronx, NY on March 28, 1938, Angelo was the son of the late Ferdinando “Fred” and Ann M. (Santomassino) Pacciarelli. He was raised and educated in the Bronx and relocated to Utica with his family as a child. On May 24, 1969 he married the former Paula Yorks; they were a true match for each other during their journey through life, a journey bound and blessed with love and respect. Sonny worked as a Dental Technician for over 40 years, holding positions at several area dental laboratories. A caring man, he was sensitive to other’s feelings and would do anything for his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also a true gentleman, rather slight in stature but grand in heart. He was trustworthy and outgoing, and he met each twist and turn in his life with an open mind and optimism. Sonny lived up to the honorable expectations of his friends and loved ones. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing at Chaumont Bay in Lake Ontario where he taught his kids how to fish and catch catfish at the largest fresh water bay in the world. Sonny is survived by his wife Paula. Always close to his heart were the memories of his infant daughter, Tammy Lee Pacciarelli, who preceded him in death, and his son, Ferdinand P. Pacciarelli, who passed away on September 3, 2000. He also leaves his son, Brian Pacciarelli of Chicago; his grandchildren, Tiffany Ann Pacciarelli, and Larissa Alexis Pacciarelli, both of Clinton, and their mother, Gail Pacciarelli Snyder; his sister, Felicia C. Pacciarelli of Utica; his mother-in-law, Rose Yorks of TX; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Elizabeth Cook of TX, and Sam Yorks of VA. Sonny’s family sends special thanks to the Gassner family for all the care and devotion they have shown to their family over the years, and to their extended family, the Grippes and the Fraccolas; we are so grateful for all you have done during this difficult time. Visitation will be held Monday from 11:00-1:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Sonny’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Monday afternoon at 1:00 from the funeral home and at 2:00 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered.
