Mr. Angelo Ottavio Lapertosa

UTICA – Mr. Angelo Ottavio Lapertosa, age 85, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Born in Utica on March 13, 1939, Angelo was the son of the late Ottavio and Antoinette (Dormio) Lapertosa. He attended Wetmore Elementary School. At one time, Angelo was employed with Joseph & Feiss for over 35 years as a bundle boy. He went on to work as an assembler at Human Technologies Corporation, the position from which he retired. Even though Angelo could be a little grumpy, his humor always shined through. If he liked you, you knew it. He had a knack for doling out nicknames, and his best advice was “you better not.” He enjoyed listening to the music of La Banda Rossa, and watching the Hallmark Channel, and I Love Lucy re-runs. He was also fond of his Pioneer Woman cookbook collection. Angelo loved his church, St. Anthony and St. Agnes, and the congregation that became his family. During the church festivals, he would be the one carrying the Sacred Heart Banner. His favorite memories included his Sunday adventures of driving to destinations unknown with his sisters, Rosemary, and Laura. Angelo cherished the memories of his siblings and their loves who preceded him, Lorenza “Laura” and Casimir Zizio, Rosa Maria “Rosemary” and Joseph D. “Mr. Jay” Trisolino, Jr., and Francesco “Frank” and Kathleen Lapertosa. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Lisa C. and Bernard Morosco, Joseph D. Trisolino III and Diane Murray; Thomas and Jacqueline Lapertosa, Jeanine and Brandon Foster; Annette and Joseph Silver, and Roseann and Vincent DeReycke. He truly enjoyed being in touch with his great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and cousins. He cherished his friends and neighbors, especially Fred and Kathy Cappozella. Angelo was further predeceased by his niece, Celia Zizio. The family would like to thank the staff at the Masonic Care Community of NY for taking compassionate care of Angelo throughout his time there; their attentiveness truly made it feel like home for him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Angelo’s Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life, which will commence on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of Mass. In lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions in Angelo’s honor may be made to La Banda Rossa, c/o Arlene Iagnocco, 4996 Henderson St., Whitesboro, NY 13492; envelopes will also be available at the service. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
