Angelo C. "Ange" "Sapphire Storm" Tomaselli

UTICA – Angelo C. "Ange" "Sapphire Storm" Tomaselli, age 76, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, in the comfort of her home, with her beloved husband, Greg, by her side. Born in Utica on September 12, 1948, to the late Cesare and Palmira “Polly” (Monopoli) Tomaselli, Ange had a wonderful relationship with her mother, whom she considered her best friend. She was a graduate of Utica Free Academy/Class of 1967. Ange and Gregory “Greg” Hearty shared in a companionship since 1976, and the two were married on December 15, 2012. They shared a beautiful and fulfilling “unionship,” of which Ange was the captain. She found great joy in caring for Greg. They were two strong personalities who created an unbreakable bond of love and devotion. The couple spent their weekends staying busy, lugging things around, and traveling. They were truly “simpatico” and always got along, appreciating each other’s company right up to the very end. However, they also understood the need for time apart and granted each other that freedom. Ange was employed as a CNA for over 20 years, a role that she was deeply passionate about. She began her career at the Broadacres Skilled Nursing Facility, and then moved on to the Heritage Health Care Center (currently the Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at Utica). Ange fought any battle that came her way head on. She had a vibrant and glamourous personality and enjoyed entertaining those around her. Everyone knew she was coming even before she entered the room. While she enjoyed the comfort of home and kept her house impeccably clean, she was always down for a good time and treated those around her with warmth. She had many stories to share about the “life of Ange!” Confident and grounded in her beliefs, Ange was someone you could always count on for honesty – if she loved you, you knew it, and if she didn’t, you knew that too! Once she made a decision, there was no turning back, and she always had to have the last word. A coffee lover and a music enthusiast, Ange had a particular fondness for Motown, especially The Supremes. She loved dressing in drag and performing ~ lip syncing and dancing were her entire life. She was delighted to have her photo taken when she was all dolled up! Her performances often saw her crowned winner of many competitions. She had a wonderful life and was proud of her Catholic faith. As Ange would say… “whatever!” Ange is survived by her husband, Greg; brothers and sister-in-law, Chester Tomaselli, and Pat and Marie Tomaselli; many nieces and nephews, especially Fred Tomaselli, Heather Tomaselli, Kelly and Nate Jalowiec, and Nicole and Johan Nordbrandt; great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; in-laws, Mike Hearty, Adam and Debbie Hearty, and Bret and Lily Gunderman and their families; dear friends, Chris Famolaro, Janet Livingston, Ron “Nina Christian” Salce, and John and Douglas; and his pets, Twiggy the dog, and Tassi the cat. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Charles Hearty; mother-in-law, Audry Hefner; brother-in-law, Brad Hearty; aunts, Mary Palozzi, and Josephine Talerico; and friend, Gary Windover. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Ange’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
