Angeline E. (Alouisa) Giorgi

Mrs. Angeline E. (Alouisa) Giorgi, age 79, of New Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 16, 2008 in the comfort of her home. Born in Utica on September 9, 1929, Angeline was the daughter of the late Anthony and Teresa (Bruno) Alouisa. She was raised and educated locally. On October 15, 1949 she married Amedio A. “Mid” Giorgi with whom she shared 36 years in a loving and devoted union prior to his passing on March 24, 1986. During her working life, Angeline held positions at General Electric, Faster-Form Corporation, and Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. Most currently, she was a loyal employee of Fraternal Composite Service, Inc. Angeline was a very independent woman, and her family marveled at her self-reliance and energy. Very spirited and social, she enjoyed dancing, and at home, she made an unforgettable pizza. Among her attributes, she was also generous and kind-hearted, and always wished the best for her family. She also enjoyed her great-grandchildren who provided her with a great sense of joy. She was a fan of the New York Jets and the New York Yankees, and a devotee of Yogi Berra. At one time, Angeline was active with the American Legion Post #229, and she was also a member of the St. Rosalia Society devoting her efforts to the annual festival. She was also committed to the good works of Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Angeline is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Deborah A. and Colin J. Hill, and Mary Terese Bostic, all of Whitesboro; her grandchildren, Lisa and Mark Scanlon of New Hartford, Lance and Kelly Hill of Whitesboro, Lori and Matt DeSimone of FL, Danielle Lieberman of Clifton Park, NY, Brandi Bostic, and Brett Bostic, both of Whitesboro; and her great-grandchildren, Kendal Scanlon, Emma Scanlon, Jake Hill, Dylan Lieberman, and the anticipated birth of 2 great-grandchildren. Angeline derived great satisfaction and pleasure through the relationships she shared with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors also include her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, especially acknowledging Margaret Calabrese; her in-laws, Lucy and Anthony Ruggiero of CA, and Antoinette Giorgi of Whitesboro; her many special friends; and her feline friend, Pumpkin. She was predeceased by her sister, Felicia Gomes; her brother-in-law, Angelo T. Giorgi; and a special friend, Richard M. Nasbe. Visitation will be held Sunday (today) from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Angeline’s funeral service will commence on Monday morning at 8:30 from the funeral home and at 9:30 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
