Angeline A. (Dacquino) Motto

Mrs. Angeline A. (Dacquino) Motto, age 87, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Masonic Care Community of NY with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on August 30, 1924, Angeline was the daughter of the late Thomas and Vita (Gioe) Dacquino. She was raised and educated locally. On December 1, 1956 she wed Joseph M. Motto with whom she shared 43 years prior to his passing on January 2, 2000; as a couple, they kept their promise of reciprocal respect and love throughout their married life, and it became a source of great happiness which characterized their family life. Angeline devoted her life to caring for her family with generosity, love, encouragement, patience, and humor. She welcomed her grandchildren with a warm heart and open arms, and they brought great joy to her life. A sweet and sociable woman, she always extended her home to family and friends. A gracious host, Angeline was happiest when she was cooking, baking, and sharing the goodness of her kitchen with her loved ones. Caring for others was a cardinal concern in her life. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Angeline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Edward Anson of North Utica. Always close to her heart was the memory of her son, Joseph R. Motto, who passed away on May 28, 1998. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Jennifer and Daniel Kunze, and Jessica Anson; many nieces, especially Mary Lynn, Roger and Maria Rebisz, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; and her in-laws, Philomena Dacquino, and Frances Dacquino who always shared a special bond with Angeline. She also leaves her friends, Antoinette and Dick Stancato, Mary Cavallaro, Rosemary Maida, Patrick and Lisa Anson, and Brett Anson. She was predeceased by her brothers, Vincent S. “Jim” Dacquino, Thomas A. Dacquino, and Joseph Dacquino; her sisters and brother-in-law, Vita C. and Guy J. Rinaldi, and Victoria Grande; and her sister-in-law, Carmella Motto. The family wishes to acknowledge Dr. Dilip Kachare, Angeline’s longtime physician; and the entire staff of the Bronx Household at the Masonic Care Community of NY, for caring for her with such kindness and compassion. Angeline’s family will honor and commemorate her life in a private gathering. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the Mass. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in lieu of floral offerings; envelopes will be available at the service. Committal prayers and interment will take place graveside at Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
