Miss Angelina M. Cardinale

Miss Angelina M. Cardinale, age 96, passed away on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care Center. Born in Utica on November 20, 1917, Angelina was the daughter of the late Nicola and Rose (Dalessio) Cardinale. Raised and educated locally, she attended the Utica School of Commerce. Angelina’s career was as office manager with the New York State Department of Health, the position from which she retired in 1978. She was a past president of the Nita Kola Service Club, a member of the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA), and of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP). She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Angelina is survived by her sisters-in-law, Henriette Cardinale of Clinton, and Dorothy Cardinale of Cheektowaga, NY; her nieces and nephews, Rosemary Thumudo, Carol and Joseph Lamina, Diana and Robert Schmitt, Nicholas and Mary Cardinale, Norman and Helen Cardinale, Rose and James Kolwaite, Colette Harmatiuk, Daniel Cardinale, Gerald and Lorraine Cardinale, Patricia and Paul Brawn, and Nancy and James Sano; and her many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Nicholas Cardinale, Patrick Cardinale, Raphael Cardinale, and infant brother Angelo Cardinale; her sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Cardinale, and Theresa and Frank Massaro; and her nieces, Josephine Massaro, and Linda Teller. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the staff of the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care Center for the care and concern offered to Angelina during her stay. The family will honor Angelina’s life in a private gathering. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Angelina's funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Monday afternoon at 2:00 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Felix Colosimo. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the Mass. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.
