Mrs. Angela A. (Santora) Selletti

Mrs. Angela A. (Santora) Selletti, formerly a resident of The Meadows in New Hartford and also of Palm Beach, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. At the time of her passing she was in the hearts of those she loved the most. Born in Utica, Angela was the daughter of the late Peter and Marie (Paternoster) Santora. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. Angela entered into marriage with Frank P. Selletti. They truly loved one another and enjoyed the 35 years they resided in Florida. Frank was a very talented drummer, and among the many highlights of their years together was the time they shared performing in Frank’s band, the “Rhythm Top Hatters”. They also performed together on many cruises. In addition to their association with the entertainment business, Frank also owned his own automobile business in Florida. He was an avid golfer, and together they belonged to many private clubs. Angela’s beloved husband passed away on September 6, 1985. At one time, Angela was employed as a dental nurse for several local dentists. She was affiliated with St. Elizabeth Hospital where she forged a friendship with her biology instructor, Sister Rose Vincent, a bond which endured for many years. She then returned to school at Brevard Community Designing College where she earned a degree in Clothing and Interior Design, an accomplishment which afforded her an enjoyable career as a color-coordinator at the Xeverian Company in Florida. Angela was blessed with a wonderful, challenging, and fun-filled life, a life that provided her with many cherished friendships, numerous and exceptional opportunities for travel and cultural enrichment, and a wealth of exciting experiences. She did a lot of traveling, an activity she loved, and on her various trips, she met many prominent and noteworthy people in establishments and venues. Over the years, she contributed hours of time to charitable and community causes through her generous spirit and her many volunteer activities. She was a member of the Dental Association, Interior Design of Florida, the American Heart Association of Florida, and the Sharing Center of Melbourne, FL. Among her favorite pastimes, she especially enjoyed the game of golf. Locally, she was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. She leaves her sister, Annette Urso of Rome; many nieces and nephews, especially acknowledging Steve Dellerba, Jr. and his wife Rosemary, for all they have done for Angela and the care, compassion, and love that was given to her; great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Angela loved the friendship she shared with the “Nolan” sisters of Kitty Hawk, NC. In addition, she wished to acknowledge and remember all those who have enhanced her life with the great devotion, especially the following: Lisa and her son, Nick; the Serbert family, Rose Semeraro; Brenda, Jill and Chris, all of Florida, Hidico of Japan; and her former employer and dear friend, Xeverian of Florida. In most recent years, Angela enjoyed the rich kindness of Ruth Drake, RN of the Presbyterian Residential Community. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Stephen Dellerba; her brother-in-law, Vito Urso; and her special nephew, Gene Nappi. In keeping with Angela’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Angela’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday morning at 10:00 at St. John the Evangelist Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Kevin Bunger. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. “To all family, in and out-of-state, and to all my beautiful friends… Thank you”.
