Mrs. Ana M. (Gonzalez) Rodriguez

UTICA – On Monday, March 16, 2026, Mrs. Ana M. (Gonzalez) Rodriguez, age 64, passed away unexpectedly, with her loving family by her side. Born in Morovis, Puerto Rico, on April 4, 1961, Ana was the daughter of the late Herachio and Josefa M. (Santiago) Gonzalez. She was raised and educated on the island. On May 1, 1978, she entered into holy matrimony with Luis A. Rodriguez. The couple shared a loving and devoted union for 49 years, filled with wonderful memories and a beautiful family. After their marriage, they moved to Jersey City, NJ, where all of their beloved children were born. They later relocated to Utica for a period, before returning to Puerto Rico. It was there that she received her cosmetology license. In 1987, they spent a year in Connecticut before returning to Utica, where they have since resided. Ana’s main focus in life was to love and nurture her family. She was a true matriarch—selfless, loyal, and unwavering in her devotion. She never failed to do what was best for those she loved. A devoted wife, she treated her family—especially her husband—with the utmost care and affection. Nothing stood in her way when it came to caring for her loved ones. She was their biggest supporter, always present at life’s important moments—whether sporting events, doctor’s appointments, or any special occasion. No snowstorm or obstacle could keep her away. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them and took great joy in celebrating their milestones. An excellent cook, Ana had a gift for making anything delicious, especially her famed Spanish desserts. Cooking was her passion, and she truly excelled at it. It was one of the many ways she showed her family how much she loved and appreciated them. She was also a meticulous and gracious homemaker. A member of Historic Old St. John’s Church, she held a deep faith in the Lord and was devoted to practicing her Catholic faith. Ana is survived by her children, Luis A. Rodriguez, Jr., Alberto M. Rodriguez, and Nayka and José Acevedo; and grandchildren, Luis A. Rodriguez, III, Alberto L. Rodriguez, Xander L. Rodriguez, Alexis M. Ortega, Yanielis G. Rodriguez; Yanaila Rodriguez, Llenella A. Rodriguez, Lydiana M. Rodriguez; Luis A. Acevedo; Jakarenzulley Acevedo, and Taisha J. Acevedo. She is also survived by her beloved great-grandchildren wand was proud to know she was expecting a great-grandson at the end of April. Her loss is also felt by Hector L. Cordero, Jr., a nephew whom she loved as a son, and Hector’s sons whom she adored as her own grandchildren, Hector L. Cordero, III and Dominic L. Cordero; her brother-in-law whom she loved as a son, Leonardo Rodriguez and his wife Monica, whom she loved as a daughter, and their children Leonardo L. Rodriguez, Jr., Anika S. Rodriguez, and Kennith X. Rodriguez, whom she loved as her own; nieces, Mayra Rodriguez and Zuly Y. Rodriguez; and many family and friends still residing in Puerto Rico. The Rodriguez family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Brianna Metzler for her care and compassion, and for always giving her best. They also wish to thank Rev. Amedeo Guida and Rev. Luis Olguin for their spiritual guidance. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Ana’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
