Alice (Bottoni) Geraci

Mrs. Alice (Bottoni) Geraci, age 85, of Whitesboro, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center. Born in Carthage, NY on December 3, 1922, Alice was the daughter of the late Henry and Jeannie (Zompanti) Bottoni. She was raised and educated in Carthage. In 1942 she married Sam “Graham” Geraci who passed away in December of 1973. The couple shared a blessed union of 31 years and a relationship dedicated to family life. A natural caregiver and selfless woman, Alice rendered many acts of kindness throughout her life. She was a wonderful and dedicated mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. Her advice was optimistic and encouraging, always seeking the good in any situation. She was proud to be a “Nonnie” and shared in the children’s years of growth and the precious moments of their lives. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish and a member of the Ladies of Mt. Carmel Society. Alice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Mario Favale of Whitesboro with whom she resided. Always close to her heart was the memory of her daughter Eileen, who passed away in infancy. She also leaves her grandchildren, Dr. Alicia DeTraglia and her husband Joseph of Clinton, and Jennifer and Garrett Zyskowski of Whitesboro. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter. In addition, she leaves her great grandchildren, Joseph and Lydia Rose; and Benjamin; her brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph and Megan Bottoni of FL, George Bottoni of Oriskany, and Daniel Bottoni of FL; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her cherished sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Carl J. Argen. The family extends heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Scott Brehaut for caring for “Nonnie” with much love and compassion; the nurses and staff of the Birch Wing at the Presbyterian Home who treated “Nonnie” with much respect and dignity; Fr. Joe Salerno for his prayers; and her nieces, nephews, and brothers who visited her while she was at the home. Visitation will be held on Friday (today) from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Alice’s funeral service will commence on Saturday morning at 8:30 from the funeral home and at 9:30 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
