Mrs. Albina M. (Carbone) Stephens

UTICA – Mrs. Albina M. (Carbone) Stephens, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Born in Utica on July 27, 1944, Albina was the daughter of the late Frank A. and Angeline (Petrone) Carbone. She attended T.R. Proctor High School, then furthered her studies by attending Utica Beauty School. Albina wed Robert “Bob” Stephens on October 30, 1965. Dedicated to being there for each other through the good times and bad, they were blessed to share a loving and devoted union of 59 years together. At one time, Albina, along with her sister, Theresa, owned and operated Lasting Impressions, specializing in balloon arrangements for special occasions. The position allowed Albina the opportunity to showcase her creative talents. A true matriarch, Albina was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She demonstrated admirable family values, unconditional love, and respect. Imaginative and resourceful, she could take a simple item and turn it into a spectacular presentation, whether it be at home, her sons’ school projects, or the many beautiful memories that she offered in her innovative balloon arrangements. Albina loved to stay up late playing cards or board games with her sister and sister-in-law. She enjoyed reading, especially suspense novels, as well as a variety of music, particularly from the 1950s or Whitney Houston. Always ahead of her time, she delighted in attending and participating in craft fairs, showing off her candy apples and gingerbread houses, among other projects. Christmas was a special time of year for Albina, and every year had a different themed Christmas tree. Of course, she loved giving gifts! Throughout the rest of the year, she enjoyed vacations, and spending time in the sun, especially winters in Florida and Myrtle Beach. A devout Catholic, Albina was a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Albina is survived by her husband, Bob; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert II and Leslie Stephens, and Jason and Christa Stephens; grandchildren, Miranda and Alexander Augustson, Madison Stephens, Aiden Stephens; Landon Stephens, and Hudson Stephens. She was so proud to know she was expecting her first great-grandson in May. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister and brother-in-law, Francine and Richard Martin. She fondly remembered her sister who preceded her, Theresa A. Stivali. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; in-laws, James and Patricia Stephens, Sandy and Jim Marine, Joni and Rene Zayas, and Sandra Stephens; and many special friends she made throughout her life. She was additionally predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gordon and Ann (Parkulo) Stephens; in-laws, Mary Ann Stephens, Charles G. Stephens, Harry P. Stephens, and Dorothy Stephens; and niece, Susan Maggio. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Buffalo Unit of the Masonic Care Community of NY for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. In lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions in Albina’s honor may be made to the Lupus Foundation online at www.lupus.org/donate; envelopes will also be available at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Albina’s Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life, which will commence on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
