Mrs. Adeline P. (Pellegrino) Russo

Mrs. Adeline P. (Pellegrino) Russo, age 84, of Utica, passed away on Friday, July 01, 2011 in the dignity of her home with her loving family at her side. Adeline was born in Utica on October 3, 1926, the daughter of the late Carmine J. and Mary (Giglio) Pellegrino. Raised and educated in Utica, she was a 1945 graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On June 24, 1950 she married Lorenzo “Larry” Russo who passed away on August 29, 2010; throughout their 60-year union, they shared a loving and enjoyable relationship. Adeline worked as a bookkeeper for the Jules Savlov Company, but she made her beloved family the most important and pleasant part of her life. She was admired as a parent, and also maintained a loving relationship with her siblings. Graceful by nature, she was a fashionable dresser, always elegant and dignified in her appearance. In her later years, she became an accomplished quilter and gifted her handcrafted items to her loved ones. She enjoyed summer camping in Old Forge, Otsego, and Seneca Lakes, and winter journeys to Florida. She was a communicant of the former St. Agnes Church and St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Adeline is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Louise and Robert A. Sirianni of Utica; her sons and daughters-in-law, James C. “Jim” and Mary Russo of New Hartford, and Lorenzo J. “Larry” Jr. and Lisa Russo of Dunedin, FL. Always close to her heart was the memory of her infant daughter, Linda Sue Russo, who preceded her in death. She also leaves her grandchildren, Chelene L. Sirianni, Robert Sirianni, Jr., Michael Sirianni, Steven C. Sirianni, Severine Russo, Louis Rosato, Lorenzo J. Russo, Lucia M. Russo, Mariah F. Russo, and Salvatore V. Russo; her sisters, Rosemary Malerba, Beverly Pellegrino, and Jeanette Pellegrino; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Carmen and Lucille Pellegrino, Jr., Robert and Marie Pellegrino, and Dominick Pellegrino of NJ; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Theresa Motto of CA, and Clarice “Dee Dee” Pellegrino. She was predeceased by her brother, Anthony F. Pellegrino; and her in-laws, Nicholas and Thelma Russo, Josephine and Andrew Pekala, Dolores and Dick Dudek, Anthony Malerba, and Louis Motto. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Adeline’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Wednesday morning at 9:00 from the funeral home and at 10:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta. Committal prayers and entombment will follow in Calvary Mausoleum.
