Mr. Salvatore "Sam" Noti

Mr. Salvatore “Sam” Noti, age 71, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center after a brief illness, with the love and support of his family in his heart. Born in Utica on July 18, 1944, Salvatore was the son of the late Anthony F. and Frances (Zegarelli) Noti-Dunn. Raised and educated locally, he attended T.R. Proctor High School. A veteran in the United States Army, Sam honorably served his country during 2 tours of duty as a sharp shooter; he served a portion of his enlistment in Korea. Many would remember Sam as the legendary owner and operator of Montaldo Line-up & Repair Shop on Rutger Street. A man of simplicity, blessed with a generous heart, his greatest pleasure in life was the time spent with his grandchildren. Sam is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Denise Noti of PA, Erica and Brian Johnson of NY Mills, and Samantha and Eric Stratman of FL; and his grandchildren, Kaeley; Blake, and Emma; Ethan, and Madison. He also leaves his sisters and brothers-in-law, Angela Castronovo, Carol and Anthony DelGuidice, Joanne Chmura, Sharon and Timothy Hanrahan, Donna and Charles Sergott, Debbie Moorehead, Rosemarie and Gary Galasso, Darlene and Philip Kelly, Jacqueline Dewey and Fred Diflo, Marie Rehm, and Gail and John Convertino; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Angela Hare, Anthony, Jr. and Sarah Noti, and Richard and Shelley Noti; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Although no longer together at the time of his passing, Sam’s daughters would like to acknowledge the many years their father shared with Pam Murray and her family. Sam’s children wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to his sisters, Darlene, Jackie, Debbie, Gail, and Joanne; and his brother-in-law John, for their unwavering love and support during this difficult time. In keeping with Sam’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Sam’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where his Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta; with Military Honors conferred. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
