Mr. Frank D. "Harpo" Inserra

MIRAMAR, FL – Mr. Frank D. “Harpo” Inserra, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, with his loving and supportive family by his side. Born in Utica on January 4, 1952 to Ninfa (Aiello) Inserra and the late Anthony “Sonny” Inserra, Frank attended Brandegee and Hughes elementary schools and T. R. Proctor High School. Frank shared a loving 28 year relationship with Rosemary B. Homeister, Sr. Besides their love for one another, they shared so much in common, like their affinity for horses and animals, their heritage, and a lifetime of happiness. In Frank’s earlier years, he owned Harpo Productions, a musical entertainment and events coordination company. He and Rosie also became enchanted with and owned several horses. He even became a horse broker. A free spirited and compassionate man, he was always able to make people laugh, and forged good memories with them. Loyal to the end, he was true to his word and people knew they could depend on him. He made friends wherever he went and left an impression on others even after only knowing them a short time. He was a shopper and a great cook. He even still phoned his mother for recipes. The two of them shared a very special bond and spoke daily which was so precious. He always made sure to come home for Christmas and a week in July for family gatherings. He always loved his Utica base. Frank is survived by his beloved mother, Ninfa; and his companion, Rosemary. He was also blessed to share his life with Rosemary’s daughter, Rosemary, Jr., as well as his “granddaughter” Victoria. His loss is also felt by his brother, Salvatore A. Inserra; his niece, Nina Inserra, with whom he shared a wonderful and loving relationship; his nephew, Donald J. Inserra; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Annabelle, Christopher, and Olivia Inserra and their mother, Alexis Arcuri. He is also survived by his aunt Franca and the late Carmen Marsala; his uncles and aunts, Augie and Judy Aiello, and Dominick and Dianne Aiello; as well as many aunts and uncles who preceded him. He was blessed to have many cousins, especially Anne Calabrese who was the sister he never had, but certainly needed! He will also be missed by many friends who enriched his life and with whom he forged many good memories. The family commemorated Frank’s life at a private time. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of life on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 684 Jay St., Utica. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of Mass. In lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions in Frank’s honor may be made to Anita’s Steven Swan Humane Society online at https://www.anitas-sshs.org/donate; envelopes will also be available at the service. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
